In a place that has a reputation for decadence and discomfort, a little-known ultramarathon is attracting hundreds of runners to experience its one of a kind environment of art, music, and nature. In this 12 minute film watch several wildly spirited runners take on the heat, dust, and distance while being encouraged on by a bizarre group of revelers.

The Foodless Odyssey has been a longtime dream of Pro mountain biker Matt Hunter. The idea is to bike-pack through hundreds of kilometers of wilderness on the remote Island of Haida Gwaii, living entirely off the land. The rules were simple, we would carry all the survival tools we needed to bike, fish, hunt and camp…. but absolutely no food. Everything we would consume for the weeklong journey would have to be harvested from the land.

MOMENT is a lush balance of action, scenic and aerial footage. It tracks one man’s saga to complete an epic highline in the spectacular Needles of California. MOMENT explores the breathtaking spaces between earth and sky, fear and elation, success and failure.

“I don’t want to be known as just a one-armed climber,” says Maureen Beck, “I just want to be a good climber.” Maureen Beck may have been born missing her lower left arm, but that hasn’t stopped her from going hard. She takes whippers on 5.12 and crushes overhanging boulders, while shot-gunning beers. But she is not here to be your inspiration. “People say, ‘Look, a one-armed climber, now I have no excuses.’ I’m like, dude, you never had any excuses in the first place.” Maureen is here to crush the gnar — with one bloody stump helping her get to the top.
