Our small but mighty paid staff shares a passion for wild Nature. Together with local volunteers and backed online by people around the world, we run strategic, people-powered campaigns to help Clayoquot Sound remain one of the most beautiful places left on Earth. Of course we couldn’t do any of this without your support—making you the most important member of our Team!

Bonny Glambeck
She/Her
Campaigns Director
Bonny Glambeck works full-time as Campaigns Director of Clayoquot Action. A lifelong activist, Bonny moved to Tofino in 1988 and joined the fledgling rainforest movement. Her work culminated as the Action Coordinator of the 1993 Clayoquot Summer protests. Bonny is an avid naturalist and expedition kayaker, and has lived off-grid in the heart of Clayoquot Sound for thirty years.

Executive Director
Dan Lewis works full-time as Executive Director of Clayoquot Action, and has lived in Tofino for 30 years. He taught sea kayaking for three decades, and has paddled most of the BC coast. Dan was a lead organizer of the mass protests of Clayoquot Summer 1993. In his spare time Dan likes to sing out loud while paddling.

Mishele Gagne has been working with non-profits for 20 years, and has lived in Tofino for 25 years. In her spare time she likes to surf and garden.
Sophie Peters Operations Manager

Operations Manager
Sophie Peters works part-time as Operations Manager at Clayoquot Action. She has a background in Environmental Studies, and experience working with various environmental grassroots organizations. With a passion for environmental advocacy, surfing and kayaking she is grateful to call Vancouver Island her home. She is committed to the protection of the biodiversity and ecological communities of the Clayoquot Sound.

Digital Communications Coordinator
Driven by a deep passion for the outdoors—surfing, hiking, kayaking, and nature conservation—Ben spent years traveling the world. Along the way, he fell in love with the natural beauty and cultural richness of Clayoquot Sound on the West Coast. Now, he’s committed to protecting this magical place, on the lands and waters of the central Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, so that future generations of all living beings can thrive.

Video Producer
Jérémy Mathieu works part-time as Video Producer at Clayoquot Action. He is a videographer and director dedicated to conservation, using the emotions created by films to bring awareness about the fragility and beauty of nature. Jérémy fell in love with the West Coast and believe he has to protect what he loves.
