Deepen your Connection

Welcome! Check out 5 easy ways to connect to local conservation efforts while enjoying your visit to Tofino.

Our Mission

Clayoquot Action is a Tofino-based conservation society. For over thirty years Clayoquot Action founders Dan Lewis and Bonny Glambeck have been working to protect this awe-inspiring place. Together with local volunteers and backed online by people around the world, we run strategic, people-powered campaigns to help Clayoquot Sound remain one of the most beautiful places left on earth.

This short video introduces the rich ecology of Clayoquot’s rainforests, and explains how they were protected through peaceful protest.

2. Stay Connected

Wild salmon are the backbone of the BC coast, but they are on the brink of extinction. Join the growing movement to protect wild salmon and everything that depends on them, from orcas and wolves to bears and ancient cedars

3. Take Action

People power works! The forests surrounding Tofino were protected by people taking action. We create easy-to-use petitions to help you make your voice heard, at key moments when decision-makers are already listening. Get started right now!

4. Tribal Parks Allies

Watch for the Tribal Parks Allies logo at Tofino businesses. They contribute a percentage of sales toward supporting Tribal Parks Guardians. Allies provide experiences which connect to Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations’ story, and support their collective vision for a culturally and ecologically rich coastline forever.

5. Get Wild!

Get Wild! is a Clayoquot Action program that certifies restaurants and food vendors here in Tofino that choose to serve exclusively wild Pacific salmon. Remember, wherever and whenever you purchase salmon, always ask if it is wild or farmed.
